HEAD INJURIES

YOUNG MAORI WOMAN

ALLEGATION OF ASSAULT (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Consequent upon an alleged assault, a single Maori woman, Johanna Te Waka, aged 22, of Panguru, was admitted to the Rawene Hospital suffering from head injuries. Constable W. E. C. Bruce, of Kohukohu, was called to Rangugu, and was later joined by Detective-Sergeant J.- B. Finlay, of Whangarei, in the making of investigations.

The father of the girl, Brown Te Waka, is missing from his home, and a search is being made in an endeavour to locate him.

The condition of the young woman is reported tc be serious, but not dangerous.
