DUSKY SOUND IN FAVOUR
AT ADDINGTON TROTS (Special) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Dusky Sound has the form and background to suggest strong winning possibilities in the Winter Handicap at Addington to-morrow, when the Canterbury Park Trotting Club will hold what should prove to be a successful patriotic meeting. It is not a strong field, but it should be a good race, with Bronze Eagle and Braw Lass providing the main opposition. The fields, with one exception, are of fair size, and the track should be good. HAS GOOD RECORD Frances Easton has been placed at her last two starts, the latest at Washdyke. This mare has 3.15 4-5 against her name for a mile and a half, and may be worth following, as she appears to be definitely on the upgrade. Her first win for the season may come at Addington. IX WINNING VEIN Gold Peg's winning performance at Washdyke was one of the best seen in the class this season, and draws attention to her prospects in the 4.49 class twomile race at the Canterbury Park Club's patriotic meeting at Addington. STEADILY IMPROVING Pre-eminence continues to confirm an impression that he will prove the best of the very useful famiiy of winners left by that good mare, Waltaki Girl. He showed courage tinder a stiff drive to get his head in front of Surprise Potts after the latter looked the winner with 50yds to go in the Otipua Trot Handicap at Washdyke on Saturday. Pre-eminence is a good type of gelding by Great Bingen, and, only four years old, should have his best racing days in front of him. He is on the limit in the Waimairi Handicap to-morrow.
