RED CROSS FIRE LOSS

How amazing that Mr. Tiarks, who presumably weighs his words, should describe a plain request, for business information from a local executive, as an attack—in fact a stab—at the Red Cross Society. The executive can thank their stars that their lack of business precautions is treated in law more leniently than for trustees, who could be mulcted in damages for negligence. Mr. Tiarks refers blandly to this lack as "an unfortunate oversight." One cannot congratulate an executive on such an apologist, who finally tries to drag in such political dynamite as wharf pay and coal for miners picnics. Crying over spilt milk is useless, but what we want is such information as will satisfy us that all the milk will not be in one jug, and that the jug will be properly safeguarded. ACCOUNTANT.
