CHRISTMAS STAKES £9000 Chief features of the Auckland Trotting Club's Christmas programme are the Cup, which will carry a stake of £1500 and a gold cup value £100, the President's Handicap, £1000, and Great Northern Free-for-All, £750. A total of £9000- will be distributed in stakes during the two days, December 28 and 30. Details of the programme are:— First Day.—December Handicap of £200 (or £400 if divided), one mile and a half, limit 3.43; Oak Handicaps! £250, two miles, trotters, limit 5.7; Grandstand Handicap of £500, one mile and a half, limit 3.29; Auckland Trotting Cup of £1500 and gold cup value £100 (horses- assessed on 4.33 at timo of handicaps eligible), two miles, limit 4.32; Epsom Handicap of £500, trott.ers, two miles, limit 4.51. Atarana Handicap of £425, two miles, limit 4.48; Dominion Handicap of £350, one mile and a half, limit 3.38; St. Helier's Handicap of £650, cue mile and a quarter, limit 2.50. Second Day.—Tamaki Handicap of £350, trotters, two miles, limit 5.2; Park Handicap of £350, one mile and a half, limit 3.38; Onslow Handicap of £650, ons mile and a half, limit 3.26. President's Handicap of £1000 (horsas assessed on 4.33 at time of handicaps eligible), two miles, limit 4.32; Bowe Memorial Handicap of £600, trotters, two miles, limit 4.49; Premier Handicap of £425, one mile and a half, limit 3.34; New Year Handicap of £500, two miles, limit 4.42; Great Northern Free-for-All of £750, for horses assessed on 2.47 and not faster than 2.44. one mile and a* quarter. Horses that have not won a race at a totalisator meeting at time of handicaps will not be eligible to start in the Dominion Handicap or the Park Handicap.
