GOLD BAR'S SPRINT FIELDS AND PROSPECTS (Special) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Lament and his stablemates, Bomber and Within, should have a big following in the New Zealand trotting championship at Addington to-morrow, when the Metropolitan Club will conclude its Cup meeting. The three trotters are in excellent condition for a hard race. Thev will meet a good horse in Douglas McElwyn, which was off colour when he ran third In the Dominion Handicap on the first day, but his track work this week suggests he has made a good recovery. Acropolis may be entrusted with more support than Scottish Emperor and Imperial Lady in the New Zealand Derby Stakes. Imperial Lady beat Acropolis easily in the Metropolitan Challenge Stakes, run over one mile and a quarter but the distance of the Derby is one mile and a half. This will sugt Aeropolis better than Imperial LacTy. Scottish Emperor has as much ability as any of his opponents, but he is apt to break at the stari. . Gold Bar's performance in the New Zealand Trotting Cup will cause him to be made a firm favourite for the Premier Sprint Championship.
