OVERSEAS AND IN N.Z. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Appointments and promotions of officers of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force gazetted tonight include: — Major C. M. Bennett, Maori Battalion, to be lieutenant-colonel (temporary) while commanding a battalion. The following majors to be lieuten-ant-colonels (temporary):—J. O. Kelsey, M.8.E., and G. D. Pollock M.B.E. Appointments and promotions of the following officers in the New Zealand Military Forces are also gazetted:— Major J. Brooke-White, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff-Officer, second grade, NeW Zealand Staff College and is appointed General Staff Officer, first grade (operations and intelligence), Army Headquarters, with the. temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel. Major H. A. Jones is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel while district engineer and works officer, Central Military District. Major M. Leadbetter relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, second grade (operations), Army Headquarters, and is_ appointed to a similar position at the New Zealand Staff College, Avith the acting rank of lieutenant-colonel. Major D. G. Wallace is appointed deputy-Assistant Director of Medical Services, Army Headquarters, and is granted the temporary rank of lieu-tenant-colonel. / , Temporary-Major J. C. Forsyth is granted the temporary rank .of lieu-tenant-colonel while in charge of a heavy anti-aircraft regiment. Major H. S. Jones is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel while in command of a field regiment. Temporary-Major J. G. C. Leach is granted the temporary rank of lieu-tenant-colonel while in command of a battalion. Major J. J. Brownlee, consultant surgeon to the navy, army and air force in maxillar, facial and plastic surgery, is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel. Temporary-Brigadier G. S. Peren, formerly principal of Massey "Agricultural College, is appointed to the acting command of a division. Tem-porary-Colonel E. J. Phillips is appointed to the command of a brigade.
