ARMY APPOINTMENTS
COMMANDERS OF ZONES
NEW LIEUTENANT - COLONELS (0.C.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Included in the list of army appointments gazetted to-night are those of five commanders of zones in the Northern Military District. They will command Home Guard and certain Territorial Force establishments in their zones. Each officer is promoted to the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel. They are Major J. Oliphant, M.C., who relinquishes the appointment of area officer for the Hamilton area; Major G. Morpeth; Major G. R. Blackett, M.C., formerly area officer, Auckland; Major W. J. Smeeton, M.C., who relinquishes the appointment of commandant of the Northern Military District School of Instruction;' and Major J. L. Scoullar, at present brigade major to a fortress command.
