HOME GUARD DRILLWARNING TO RESERVIST '.'You are ordered to carry out duties, and if you fail your appeal will be dismissed," said Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., chairm'an of " the Armed Forces Appeal Board, when Lindsay Bennett Howard, foundry manager, appeared before the board this morning. Mr. F. J. Cox, Grown representative, said that the reservist's appeal for exemption from military service had been' adjournpd sine die, an order being made that he join the Home Guard. The matter was now brought before the board because the reservist had not attended parades of the Home Guard. Mr. A. M. Samuel, a member of the board, thought that the Home Guard itself should discipline reservists who did not attend parades. Mr. .Cox: The Home Guard is bound to notify us if an order of the board is not obeyed. The reservist stated that he had been unable to attend parades because he had been busy at work, but he would now be able to attend them. The chairman dismissed the reservist with the warning that he had to fulfil his Home Guard obligations.
