MR. LANGSTONE'S RESIGNATION
If any evidence is wanted by supporters of the Labour Government is to the total unfitness for Cabinet rank or, indeed, to be a member of Parliament, surely it is fully supplied ay the statements reported to have been made by Mr. Langstone at Taumarunui. Has any man in an important position ever been so childish —talked so much balderdash? For one thing only is a measure of admiration due to him—his statement that he has no special qualifications —a refreshing frankness, which Dthers in his party would do well to emulate. For those two Ministers, who are said to have "pleaded" with him not to resign, and to the unthinking people who supported a vote of confidence in him at Taumarunui, a large measure of sympathy is due. As to his remark that the ballot box will show whether the Labour party has gone down in the opinion of the working man, it has already proved this in one or two districts. ONE-TIME LABOUR SUPPORTER.
