YOUTH, THE ARMY AND THE FUTURE
"When I was called up in the army IS months ago I had just completed two years of my four-year apprenticeship. I have, since being in the army, done exactly nothing which could in any way help any country f> war effort. Every afternoon is concentrated on sport, for the siffiplS reason there is nothing else to da And in the meantime my youth is slipping away, and when this war is over I will be a man with no trade, no future, and absolutely no hope of continuing my apprenticeship. lam willing to do anything, even go overseas and die for my country and ihy people, but why keep me in canip when there is no need for it? This is an appeal to somebody somewhere who has it in his power to provide us young fellows with a future, instead of putting us on labourers jobs or unemployment after the war. A.S.C.
