KNOWN IN AUCKLAND
DESCRIPTIONS OP MEN More detailed descriptions of the three Germans who escaped from Somes Island in Wellington Harbour last week are now available. Details are:— Hans Finke, aged 30, sft Tin, list, dark complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, thick lips, pointed chin, long nose, gold-filled teeth in upper jaw, scar on right forearm. Carl Oscar Schroeder, or Johnson, aged 23, 6ft lin.,. 13st 101b, youthful features, fair to reddish complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, tattooed on both arms, speaks good English with slight accent. Frederick George Theodor Strewe, aged 30, 6ft lin., list, slim build, fair straight hair brushed back, fresh complexion, sharp features, blue eyes, prominent strong white teeth. For some months Strewe did publicity work for a small Auckland theatre, and although for a time he worked as a labourer and waiter, he is an exceptionally welleducated young German. During his stay in New Zealand he engaged periodically in literary and propaganist work. He is well known in Auckland, and used to keep fit by swimming every day in the Tepid Baths. Strewe speaks good English with a slight accent.
