TE RAPA TRIALS

(Special.) HAMILTON, this day. A solid effort over a round by Erndale and Glen Connell was a feature of the work at Te Rapa this morning. Gallops took place on the course proper, 33 feet out from the rails. The going was good. Gay Streak and Gay Lally got to the end of five furlongs in 1.8 2-5. Gay Rosette, who looks improved as the result of racing here, shaded Karatoki at the completion of a round in 2.5J (first halfmile in 52 l-ss). Erndale finished half a length in front of Glen Connell over the closing stages of a circuit in 2.3 2-5. They ran the first half-mile in 54 4-5s and six in 1.20 4-5.

Chary, Peter Douglas and Tea Drop were associated over five furlongs in 1.5. It was a pleasing effort on the part of the trio, the time for the distance being the best of the morning. A smart half-mile along the back was credited to Marinoto and Stylishman, who finished practically on terms in 51 l-ss. Both are in splendid order for engagements ahead. Royal Jay ran five furlongs in 1.10 4-5. Laughing Fox and Town Survey were associated for six furlongs in 1.20}. Both worked well. Acquest came home the final couple of furlongs of her work in 28s. She has done well since tracing at the Waikato meeting. Royal Son finished clear of Foxmint over half a mile in 53 2-ss. Penzance, who is on the upgrade, covered six furlongs in 1.19 1-5. Her initial half-mile required 52Js. Royal View brushed over three furlongs along the back in 375. The first two were cut out in 24 l-ss. Trilliarch and Queen Herod ran to the half-mile in 535. Wildore hit out over six furlongs in 1.20 4-5, the first half-mile in 54 l-ss. Wildore is hearing a healthy appearance. Forest Glen and Idle Hour ran five furlongs in 1.7 4-5. Valerian and Mio Fratollo got to the end of half a mile in 525. Royal Bachelor worked on the sand He galloped once round in 1.54}, his first half-mile being run in 545.
