ATE RAT POISON

(0.C.) THAMES, this day. An inquest was opened yesterday into the death of Barry John Dunn aged one year and ten months, who died on October 31 after eating rat poison. The mother said that rat poison had been laid in front of the kitchen stove the previous night. She gave the child an emetic, but it failed to act. She then rang a doctor who took the child to hospital. The inquest was adjourned.
