INTER-COLLEGE RELAYS

PROGRAMME FOR SATURDAY NEXT

Many events will be staged at the intercollege relay championships on the Auckland Grammar School track at Mountain Road next Saturday. Besides racing over several distances in senior, intermediate and junior divisions there will be half mile and mile races on the points system —all the competitors leaving the mark together. In addition three hurdles events are on the programme, two broad jumps and a senior shot put.

The aggregate championship goes to the institution earning most points, calculated on the basis of the number of colleges in the events. If they all compete seven points will be credited to the winner of an event, six for second, and so on down to one for last place.

When the initial meeting was held at Mount Albert Grammar School last year Auckland won the aggregate championship, with Mount Albert runner-up.
