NEW LEGISLATION!
EXPECTED NEXT WEEK WAR DAMAGES BILL LATER (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Some of the Government's legislation for this session is expected to make its appearance in the House of Representatives next week. The first measures are likely to be the Finance Bill and the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill. It is also possible that the River Erosion Bill, which has been under consideration by a Parliamentary select committee for some time, may be brought down during the week. Among other measures likely to make an early appearance, although probably not next week, ; ,s the War Damages Bill, to which reference was made by the Minister of Finance earlier in the year. The Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill is designed to remove existing anomalies hi the taxation system. Modern finance bills often contain important policy changes, but it is understood that the coming measure will not be of this character, but will be more of a machinery nature.
