The Democratic Labour candidate for the Waitemata seat, Mr. N. »• Douglas, advanced his campaign a further stage last night when be addressed a meeting in the Gaiet? Theatre. Takapuna. He rounder criticised the failure of the LaboOT party to keep its election pledges, and quoted the introduction of conscription as an outstanding examp'e of this. Mr. Douglas submitted that his party alone had urged the taktaß of a vote before the introduction of conscription. Mr. Douglas was supported by Mr. J. A. Lee. M.P.. discussed debt-free finance and the debt system. Both speakers were accorded votes of confidence at the conclusion of the meeting.
