INDEPENDENT'S VIEWS
Speaking at Takapuna yesterday Mr. P. R. Gardner, Independent candidate for Waitemata seat, criti; cised the effect that the Bureau o' Industry would have in making difficult for returning soldiers to back to their businesses. According to the Budget, added Mr. only one-third of New Zealand s money was behind the war effort. and he criticised the Government for its lack of proportion in spendingHe also contended that the 40-hojB" week should be suspended during the war period, a guarantee being Py? 2 that it would he restored immediately afterwards. The candidate also spoke at Takapuna and Bayswater last night.
