HEAVIEST SINCE 1929

16 DEGREES IN HAMILTON (0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. The heaviest frost since 1929 was experienced in Hamilton this morning when 16 degrees were recorded. The reading in 1929 was 16.4 degrees, but since then the heaviest frost occurred last year, when a recording of 14 degrees was made. At Ruakura this morning 15 degrees of frost were registered. Even the insides of windows in houses were coated with white and water indoors froze, with the result that taps would not operate. The frost was followed by brilliant sunshine.
