TREATMENT OF T.B.
Proposals by the Health Department for the control of tuberculosis was the subject of a report which the Hospital Board received from Dr. C. McDowell at the infirmary. He said that the plan in full operation was likely to demand bed accommodation for not less than 250 to 300 patients, and any further increase in the work of the Department would need the appointment of additional full-time medical officers. He drew attention to the need of some institution devoted to the prevention of tubercular disease, and considered that Auckland should be a centre for the control and treatment of tuberculosis throughout the province. i
