HARD COURT TENNIS.

At the official opening of the Grammar Tennis Club Mr. D. McDonald presided ove; a good attendance of members. Mrs. McDonald presented the trophies won during the last season Mr. A. Ohlson represented the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. The first ball or the season was served by Mrs. L. Hill. During the afternoon a mixed tournament was held, the ultimate winners being w. Gibson and Miss Murray During the afternoon the presentation of trophies was made to the following players-— Men's singles. 3. Hale: women's singles. Kiss N Dow; xaea-s doubles. J. Hale andH. HartnoU women's doubles. Misses B. and N. Dow*mixed doubles. E. HartnoU and Miss J. Brown?' WalsU Club.—At the offlcUU opening Mr. H A. Hoare. the president, welcomed new members and visitors. Mr. C. M. McCuUough. chairman of the Mount Roskill Road Board, declared the courts open after Mrs. Hoare had served the first ball. Mr. Alan Ohlson represented the A.L.T.A The tournament winners were H. Carr and Mrs.
