BIRDCAGE PARADE.

TO BE DISPENSED WITH.

DECISION OF AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. The committee of the Auckland Racing Club decided yesterday afternoon to cliieinate the usual birdcage parade in order to shorten the period between races as well as to save horses and riders from being so long in the birdcage and on the track. The horses will be sent to the "hill" at the turn going out of the straight, and will then do their preliminary along the straight in the reverse direction to that hitherto adopted and proceed round to the starting post. It is hoped that this will enable the first race to be started half an hour later than usual, while the last event will be decided at the ordinary time.
