GIRL LIFE-SAVERS.

The Milford Girls' Surf Life-Saving Club held a successful dance at the Masonic Hall, Devonport. Music was supplied by a local orchestra. To show their appreciation for the valuable assistance given them in the / past by Dr. Harold Pettit, who is the president of the Auckland Surf LifcSaving Association, Mr. Alan Gardner, on behalf of the girls, made the doctor a small presentation. In thanking the girls, Dr. Pettit mentioned the fine work done in the past by the ladies' surf clubs, and stressed the need to help to enable these ladies' clubs to take over the work of the male life-savers who are and will be called upon to serve King and [country.
