Allies Gain 42,000 Tons Of
Petrol In June.

The Ministry of Economic Warfare announces that during June 53,048 tone of products destined for the enemy were seized by the contraband control. Most of the tonnage was seized in the Mediterranean by British units, and was obviously originally for Italy s use.
The figure includes 42,000 tons of petroleum and allied products 0000 tons of scrap iron or steel, 700 tons of oil seeds, 62 tons of turpentine, and one ?on of port wine. The totals are above the average for the winter months from October to April.
