Many thinking people in New ZeaW are convinced that the miraculous feat of evacuating four-fifth* of ihe British Expeditionary Force under appalling enemy opposition was a direct answer to the prayers of the people on Sundav, May 26. Forces previously onlv dreamt of are being released in the world to-day. They insist that we consider which Jβ the more powerful—evil or good. The .listory of the Jewish nation is written with this intent—to show that good has power over evil. When evil ruled, subversive forces were released and people became divided, intent on their own selfish game and sectional interests, and rhe country became an open prey to foreign aggression. When goodness was in the ascendancy the country worshiped one God the Eternal and they were united in one common cause—tha't «>f brmging about His righteousness on ','£ \ Internal disruption vanished and iney had power to repulse the invader oven against overwhelming odds. God is the source of power, but that power ••an only be obtained at a price—the price of being honest with ourselves, admitting man's failures and seeking Uods plan. MARJORIE BULL.
