Much has been said about the health of soldiers, colds are numerous, but can : anything different be expected under present, conditions? It is a well-known fact that worn-out footwear and wet feet produce colds. Many men in camp cannot get their boots repaired; the leather is there, but the boot repairers cannot obtain the necessary tools, there-' fore this very important work is neglected, and the men's leaky boots are quite unfit for the wet conditions now. prevailing. Surely the camp authorities or the Government could'purchase a few' tools. A STITCH IN TIME. ' ALIENS. J. Whitworth's letter regarding enemy aliens is very true, and if only more people would realise his views on the subject perhaps it would relieve a great deal of nervous strain and suffering.
