TRAINING COLLEGE.
.Our Mr. Moody has a way of eettinjr what he wants. It did not take him long to make the authorities give up the Training College for a hospital. An excellent change, too, I agree, tout what is going to happen to the students? Mount Albert School is definitelv inadequate for their needs and the people of that centre must <be rather disappointed over the turn of events. It has been said that the young teachers will be back in their college within a month, but it seems that a very thorough shifting ha* been made for only three weeks. We all know Mr. Moody's do<*gedne» and thought for the invAlid soldier, so that it seems unlikely that Training College will regain its former status for the duration. The students, by their offer of two territorial companies, have shown themselves to be amongst the most patnotic sections of the community, j Something then must be done for them. What o f Hotel Cargen? Surely the authorities could decide to use it for a trainnig college? Couldn't it be converted at little cost for the use of the students? En en if Hotel Cargen U not suitable or available something must be jdone, and quickly, to enable these teachers to complete their training as well as possible in the interest.- of the education of our children. Another point, too. concerns the Kormal School, which is only 200 yard.s from the college. .Small children, especially at this season of the year, are very susceptible to influenza. Iα there not" then a certain danger of an epidemic breaking out amongst those pupils? THOUGHTFUL CITIZFX.
