" HITLER — BEAST OF BERLIN."
SENSATIONAL FILM FOR MAJESTIC. Described as a frank, fearless, dramatic exposure of the fiendish methods of the Gestapo to enforce Hitlerism on all who dare oppose it in any form. "Hitler— Beast of Berlin." is iikely to cause something of a sensation when it opens at the Majestic Theatre on Friday. Huge audiences were reported to have been deeply impressed by the picture in its American showings; in Xew Zealand, a belligerent country, it is likely to have even more powerful effect. The film is based on actual fact and will prove an eye-opener to those who think that Hitler and his minions may not be quite as black as they have been painted. Unlike some other films of this type, "Hitler—Beast of Berlin." is no mere compilation of scattered newsreel records and. it is claimed, it is not purely hateinspired propaganda; it is a story of real life tinder the Xazi regime, lived by those who still dare to hold to the decent things of humanity. Roland Drew. Steffi Duna, Allan Ladd. John E!lb» and Vernon Dent head the cast, and 'ill players give grimly realistic performances.
"What a L it'e." the romantic comedy on the same programme, co-features Jackie Cooper and Betty Field. Young Cooper, who has been appearing in films right through his so-called "awkward age" and who is rapidly approaching manhood, once again shows the benefit of the wide experience he has packed into his comparatively short life with a fine display of acting.
