FRANKLIN RACING CLUB.

An excellent programme has been arranged for the winter meeting of the Franklin Raciug Club, to be held at I'ukckohe ou Saturday, May 4. The sum of £1700 will be distributed in stakes, an increase of £200 on last year. The Oncwhero Steeplechase carries a stake of £400, the distance being two miles and a half, while next in importance is the President's Handicap of £350, one mile and a quarter. All the other races are well endowed and there should be large fields. Nominations are due with Messrs. Blomfield and Co., Shortlaud Street, at 5 p.m., or the secretary. Mr. W. J. Short. Pukekohe, at 6 p.m. next Friday. Full particulars are advertised in this issue.
