MORE NOMINATIONS.
AUCKLAND WEST SEAT.
LABOUR COMMITTEE MEETS
At a meeting of the Auckland Labour Representation Committee last evening to diecues the tilling of the Auckland West seat in Parliament, made vacant by the death of Mr. Savage, two further nominations for the position of candidate were received. They were from Mr. P. Carr, a member of the Auckland City 'Council, and Mr. J. T. Jennings, a former president of the L.R.C. Mr. Jennings' nomination had already been mentioned, but not officially made. Other nominations received previouslv were those of Messrs. T. I'. MKVeady. .1. Save.L'h. H. <;. Staloy, .1. S. Sie'wart. F. <;. Young, C Bniley. J. J. Sullivan and Mrs. M. M, Dreaver.
The next step in tlio selection of the candidate will bo. made by the national executive of the Xcw Zealand Labour party, and it is expected that it* decision will he made known in about a week or ten days' time. Last night'e meeting pledged itself loyally to accept the decision of the national executive, and also actively to support and work for the candidate selected to contest the byelection.
