ACHILLES' WELCOME.

PICTORIAL RECORD. PRESENTED TO CAPTAIN PARRY. A pictorial souvenir in the form of a very fine album containing numerous photographs of the arrival in Auckland of H.M.S. Achilles, and the welcome accorded to Captain W. E. Parry and the crew, was presented to Captain Parry by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, after the ordinary business of the City Council had concluded last evening. An embossed copy of the address from the citizens was also presented to Captain Parry. Captain Parry, in expressing appreciation of the gifts, said he had not had the opportunity of personally thanking the Mayor and councillors for the wonderful welcome accorded himself and the ship's company. The New Zealand Navy had been born in Auckland and Auckland had always cared for them in the best possible way.
