FALL FROM TRAIN.
ELDERLY COUPLE INJURED. HUSBAND'S CONDITION SERIOUS. Injuries necessitating their removal to hospital -were suffered by en elderly couple last night, when they fell from an outward-bound train at Mangere East station shortly before nine o'clock. The couple, Mr. Thomas Gordon, aged 67, and Mrs. Jessie Gordon, aged 65, were alighting from the train when it was moving and they were both thrown to the platform. Mr. Gordon received bead injuries and an injury to the spine, while Mrs. Gordon 'bad head injuries, and lacerations. They received treatment from Dr. £. R. Lange, of Otahuhu, after which they were taCen to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance. Mr. Gordon's condition was reported this morning to be serious, while Mrs. Gordon's condition is fair.
