The explosion of 6000 pounds of nitroglycerine destroyed one unit of E. I-. du Pont dc Nemours and Company's powder works. At least two persons were killed and five injured, and the concussion shattered windows for 15 miles. The area for 50 miles Tound the works rocked, but the reason for the small number of casualties was because the specially constructed units are isolated from each other. The company posted 27 additional guards at the plant a fortnight ago to guard against sabotage. Du Pont's discount the suggestion of sabotage, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation is making inquiries. Explosions wrecked the plant three times in 1916, killing 18.
