CRAYFISH REGULATIONS.

WELLINGTON, Friday
A broach of regulations designed to eiiciire the future supply of crayfish in territorial waters resulted in the appearance of Santo Safiotti before Mr. .J. ft. L. Hewitt, B.M. He pleaded guilty to having ip his possession a female crayfish from which the external eggs or berries had been removed by artificial means.
Mr. A. ('. Karberiv, for the department, in answer to the magistrate, said the regulations Mere designed so that crayfish would multiply. It was not that they were not good to eat. Defendant admitted that he knew he had acted wrongly. He was fined £2 and costs.
