Last Night's Wedding.

HANSON—MILLS.

MID-VICTORIAN GOWNS.

A wedding of wide interest to Helensville residents, as well as Auckland, was celebrated last night at the Church of the Ascension, Point Chevalier, when Ngaere, only daughter of Mrs. E. Mills, St. Michael's Avenue, Point Chevalier, was married to Mr. T. W. Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hanson, of Te Pua, Helensville. The Rev. W. H. Rattray officiated.

As she entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. A. Mills, the bride made a rare picture of mid-Victorian beauty. Her gown was of magnolia slipper satin, a long row of buttons down the back accentuating the closelyfitting bodice, while the skirt was cut on ample lines and fell in a long train. A picturesque note was the bustle, which fell from the waist to the train. Silver and pink silk roses clustered the train. A top knot of identical roses was worn with a short tulle veil, and the bride carried a sheaf of Christinas lilies.

Miss Dorothy Marshall (chief bridesmaid) and Miss Pat Yates, were in attendance on the bride and wore frocks of ruched cyclamen taffeta with eemicrinoline skirts, and magenta velvet poke bonnets. They carried bouquets of cyclamen and anemones.

Mr. Ray Hanson (brother of the groom) acted as best man. and Mr. Theo Morris as groomsman. The ushers were Mr. F. Goertz and Mr. A. Aston. Mr. Ron Scott provided the organ music, while a solo was sung by Miss Zeila Boniface.

The reception was held at the Farmers' Trading Company. Mrs. E. Mills, mother of the bride, received the guests and wore a long classical gown of violet ring velvet with a silver brocaded coatee to match, and a spray of orchids. The bridegroom's mother. Mrs. W. Hanson, wore a frock of fuchsia figured cloque and a spray of cyclamen and stock to tone.

. Among the guests were: Mr. A. Shuker f.Milford Sounds). Mrs. D. Gowan (Wanganui), Mr. and Mrs. R, Rowbottom (Auckland) and Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Thomson (Rotorua).
