RACING CLUB'S PROTEST. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent. ) NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. The unfairness of the additional burden thrust upon racing and trotting clubs by the imposition of the social security tax on profits was deplored at the annual meeting of the Egmont RAeing Club at Hawcra. It was decided to ask the racing authorities to make representations to have racing and trotting clubs exempted from the tax. The president, Mr. S. C. Tonks, said all the profits of the racing clubs were put back into the sport and already adequate provision was made by the racing and trotting clubs for the earn <">f those who were injured. There wa* no way in which the clubs could benefit from the Social Securitv Fund.
