British Army Staff Officers Fly To Paris. HISTORIC GESTURE. British Official Wireless. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, July 11. Viscount Gort, V.C., Chief of the Imperial General Staff, accompanied by other British Staff officers, >s to fly to Paris to-morrotr Qn a two-day visit as the guests of the French Government on the occasion of the French National Fete Day. On Friday morning Lord Gort will attend a review of the French Army in company with Marshal Gamelin, Com-mander-in-Chief of the French Armed Forces, and will inter he present at a luncheon in the JSlysee Palace —a historic occasion marking the close ties which now bind the two great democracies in Western Europe. It is the first time France has invited any foreign officers to this luncheon, which is given annually by the President of the Republic to distinguished officials in the French Army.
