(British Official Wireless). LONDON, April 27. On the basis of declared values, the imports and exports, both of United Kingdom goods and imported merchandise, were greater in the past quarter than in the first quarter of 1938. Allowing for intervening price changes, the volume of imports shows a 12% per cent increase and that of domestic exports a 3% per cent advance, but re-exports show a 7 per cent reduction. Compared with the first quarter of 1038. both imports and re- 1 exports declined in volume by 3 per cent.l while exports rose by 3 per cent.
