"FOLLOW NEW ZEALAND."

POLITICS IN AUSTRALIA.

(By TelegrapP.—Own Correspondent.)

DUNEDIN, this day,

A Dunedin businessman, Mr. E. T. Moller, said on his return from Sydney that business affairs in Australia were slack and there seemed to be a strong feeling against the Government. In fact, the opinion was that if the Labour party had any other leader than Mr. Lang it would top the polls.

New Zealand, he said, was being anxiously watched to see what would happen here, and at one by-election meeting there was a banner at the back of the platform reading, "Follow New Zealand."
