BROKE FROM CUSTODY
TWO MEN BEFORE COURT. C:AR CONVERSION CHARGES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. Charged with escaping from custody at Greymoiith, Herbert Thomas Rax.worthy (24), a labourer, and .Richard Charles Howell Green, alias Robert Blythe (26), a seaman, were each sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment. On a charge o? con vei ting a car each was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Green was also sentenced to three months' imprisonment for converting a car at Christchurcli, one month for theft at Auckland, and three months for theft at Waiinihinihi, all being concurrent on' ■a charge of theft at Wellington.
