PRESTIGE RECOGNISED.

NEW ZEALAND U.S.A. (From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. "The New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association occupies a high place today in the estimation of the public and the Government," said the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., in an address at a luncheon of the Wellington Returned Soldiefs' Association this afternoon. "Since its inception in 1916 the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association has done much and has recorded Aorne notable achievements," he said. "The association never cringes to any Government in power, but its requests are always reasonable. It has increased in numbers and in prestige, and 110 one will <say i hat he did not benefit from his experience in the army." Mr. Perry exhorted all members to assist to maintain the association in the high place it had reached in the community and to remember that the virile democracy of the country had been preserved by those 17.000 men who did not return from the Great War.
