Loffley, Bay of Plenty, gave promise of gaining another title for his centre, when he won his heat in 65 2-os. C. Sell (Otago) won tho' first heat in 68s. B. Weeterby (Southland) won the first heat of the 50 yards' junior girls' freestyle in 31 2-ss, which is threefifths under the standard. In the intermediate 440 yards boys' freestyle, J. Cameron (Southland) lost his title when he gained only third position in the first heat, which wasi won by H. Davidson (Canterbury). K. Williams (Auckland) won the second heat.
