A email quantity of this commodity arrived by the Kauri, but supplies a>re expected to be short for some tune. Bran is (practically unprocurable locally. Small quantities are selling at £9 to £9 5/. Onions are coining from Pukekohe, the value being about 8/6 per bag. A shipment of barley arrived by the Kauri and is being distributed in ton lots at the new- fixed Government price. Maize is very firm, and is very difficult to procure, and prices have risen about 4d per 1001b for both whole and crusted. Business generally Is reported to be fair. . Following are latest quotations, the price being based on rates for delivery on trucks or boat:— Pollard and Bran.—Merchants' prices: Pollard, Australian, £9 to £9 15/; local, £6 15/. Bran, £7 15/; Australian, £9 to £9 of. Potatoes.—New, 6/6 per sugar bag. Onions.—Local, 8/6 per beg. Obaff.—£ll 5/ per ton. | Oats.—B Garton, 11/5 to 11/8 per cental; A Gartons, 12/4; clipped Gartons, 13/2; clipped Duns, 15/; clipped Algerians, 13/4. Wheat.—ll/9 to 12/1 per cental. Barley.—Clipped, 8/8 to 10/ per cental: undipped, 8/2 to 9/. A reduction of 6d per cental on these prices is available for deliveries from ship's side on a cash basis. Barley Meal.—lo/ to 10/6 per cental. Wheatmeal.—l3/6 per cental. Maize.—l 2/6 to 13/1 per cental; crushed, 14/2 to 14/8.
