ANNUAL MEETING.

RETIRING PRESIDENT HONOURED,

The Auckland Provincial League of Mothers held their annual meeting w the Y.W.C.A. assembly hall yesterday. The retiring president, Mrs. S>. u. English, presided at the meeting ancl welcomed the new members. A special welcome was extended to Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, a past president, who recently returned from abroad. A letter of appreciation of the work of Mrs. S. O. English was received from the Dominion president, Mrs. Charles White. On behalf of the provincial committee, Mrs. A. M. Ferguson presented Mrs. English with a large autograph book bound in green. Mrs. English also received gifts and flowers from the different branches and from individual members. Mrs. English thanked all the members for their kind wishes and expressed the hope that they would continue togivc their loyal co-operation to the new president. A short address was also given by Mrs. Harvey Turner, the newlyelected president, who spoke on the history of the league. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mrs. Harvey Turner; secretary, Mrs. W. C. Utting; assistant-secretary, Mrs. J. Pool; treasurer, Mrs. D. Silk; stationery secretary, Mrs. C. H. Furness; magazine secretarv, Mrs. A. Wright; reporter, Mrs. R. M. Webber; vice-presidents, Mrs. T. Charter, Mrs. F. W. Whyte, Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, Mrs. W Frazer Mrs. .T. T. F. Mitchell, Mrs. J. A.
