HAURAKI SEAT.

NATIONAL CANDIDATE.

Mr. J. M. Allen, National party candidate for the Hauraki electorate, visited Clevedon on Monday morning. In the afternoon he addressed a meeting in the Ness Valley Hall. He spoke in the evening in the Otau Hall. Mr. H. W. Driver presided at both meetings, which: were largely attended. The main planks of the National party platform were explained by the candidate, and he dealt at some length with the legislation passed by the Labour Government. A vote of tliaiike wa» accorded Mr. Allen at each meeting.

MR. COULTER AT WAERENGA.

Mr. R. Coulter, Labour candidate for Hauraki, addressed a largely-attended meeting at Waerenga. He gave a eurvey of economic development, reviewing the Government's legislation. He referred to the guaranteed price for dairy produce and the improved economic condition of the industry. A unanimous vote of confidence in Mr. Coulter and the Labour party \va* na&sed. Mr. F. D. Holt presided.
