ELECTION METHODS.

Mr. Morton Aldis' references to proportional representation are very timely. Recently the National party expressed concern about the number of M.P.'s elected on a minority vote. The Labour party then demonstrated with figures that this was nothing new. Both parties admit the evil, which proportional representation would eliminate. It is use 4 with success in other parts of the world. Obviously the present system gives an unfair advantage to the largest party at the expense of the country, and therefore a party with selfish interests and a good chance of success at the polls is unlikely to sponsor P.R. Will Mr. Savage and Mr. Hamilton tell the public what legislation, if any, their parties will introduce for electoral reform, and, in particular, proportional representation? JUSTICE.
