SHOPPING HOURS.
I am pleaded to notice that some of th« grocers' chops are going- to remain open until 5.15. I think it -would be better if this could be extended to 5.50 or even 6 o'clock and the shops not opened until a correspondingly late hour in the morning. Besides allowing ■workers who coase work at 5 p.m. to do shopping, it -would be of great advantage to the bus and tram transport by casing the peak load both morning and evening. The more the hours of commencing and ceasing -work are divided the better it is for the passenger transports eoni-erned. It would be of great convenience. I feel. f.nd a general benefit if other shops such ar drapers, hairdressers and many others could al*o arrange to start later in the mornings and keep open later in the evenings. W.P.
