BRADMAN OFFERED JOB AT £50 A WEEK.
LONDON, August 19.
[ An offer of £50 sterling a week to act in an advisory capacity to a firm of London bookmakers- is being considered by Bradman, according to the "Daily Mirror." The firm of bookmakers mentioned is the Sports Investors' Society, Limited, which is reported to have entertained Bradman at a West End hotel. It is expected that he will meet the directors after the fifth Test match.
Mr. G. Samuel, of the Sports Investors' Society, told the "Star" there was every possibility that Bradman would return to England after his Australian contract and accept the society's offer.
He explains that the society, which is a co-operative betting organisation, hopes to arrange the sports tours in England, and also to send teams abroad, clients sharing the progts. Naturally it would be a good thing to have a world-figure, such as Bradman, at the head.
