PONSONBY CLUB. SCHOOL AND CLUB TITLES. DEAD-HEAT FOR THE "BOATWRIGHT." .The Ponsonby Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club held a successful school and club championship carnival at the Shelly Beatch Baths on Saturday. AUCKLi'SD VISITORS' SUCCESS. The season's second swimming carnival. iind«r the auspices of the Rodney Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club, was held below the town bridge on Saturday. Special interest was given the carnival by the attendance of prominent swimmers and officials from Auckhiad, including Alan I'ascoe (Auckland distance champion). Bob Frankham, Noel Crump, Dorothy Arnold, Kita Stackpole and Mark Bell. Messrs. Rex Moore (vice-chairman, Auckland Swimming Centre). J. R. Miller (secretary, Auckland Centre), N. Klwarth (handicapper, Auckland Centre), and Mrs. E. Johnston, who chaperoned the Auckland team. Also present were Mr. H. Johnstone (Judge. Auckland Centre) and Mr. <>. W. Bell (member. Royal Life-saving Society). Results of the main events :— Corfu Dive.—T. Dean (North Shore) 1. Men's Open Handicap, 50 Yards.—A. Veart 1, F. Taylor 2, J. Vause 3. Time, 295.
