DAYLIGHT THEFT.
MONET TAKEN FROM BUS.
A leather* money-bag containing £17 in notes was stolen from « bus owned by the North Shore Transport Company yesterday afternoon -near the Devonpori' ferry wharf during the brief absence of the driver.
Before "he left the terminus of his route, at ;the corner of Old Lake Road and Takapuna Road, Mr. L. Birkhead, the driver, went into a store and exchanged a sum of money for notes, placing them in a money bag. The money bag waa "suspended from a hook near the driver's seat in the bus. On arrival at the ferry wharf and after his passengers had disembarked, Mr. Birkhead walked across the road to speak to a taxi-driver.
