PROBATION ABUSED

LABOURER DID NOT LEAVE,

Recently released from prison before the expiration of his term, Aussie Harry Fielding, aged 22, a labourer, was charged in the Police Court to-day with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation. He pleaded guilty. The probation officer said Fielding was released; from pris<£. on December 21 on condition tha£. he sailed on the steamer Maimoa. Theßev. H. K.'Vickery secured a passage for Fielding, who joined the ship on' December 22, but left it on Christmas Eve. Fielding's term would expire on February 9.
