PROBATION ABUSED
LABOURER DID NOT LEAVE,
Recently released from prison before the expiration of his term, Aussie Harry Fielding, aged 22, a labourer, was charged in the Police Court to-day with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation. He pleaded guilty. The probation officer said Fielding was released; from pris<£. on December 21 on condition tha£. he sailed on the steamer Maimoa. Theßev. H. K.'Vickery secured a passage for Fielding, who joined the ship on' December 22, but left it on Christmas Eve. Fielding's term would expire on February 9. "You had your chance and did not take it, so now you will have to go back to prison to serve the remainder of your sentence," said Mr. Hunt, who made an order for cancellation of probation..
